Sanity Singers History

 November 19, 1998 - Our first performance was with the Northern Kentucky University Symphonic Winds, singing two movements from Randall Thompson's Testament of Freedom.

November 21, 1998 - Our first concert at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Lakeside Park, Kentucky. The  music included folk, spiritual, pop and patriotic music. The featured selection was Thompson's complete Testament of Freedom.

December 5, 1998 - We participated in the Victorian Festival at St. John's United Church of Christ in Newport, Kentucky.

February 13, 1999 - We dined and sang at a Valentine's festival at the Ashland Avenue Baptist Church in Latonia, KY.

 May 8, 1999 - Our last concert of the year was held at Immanuel United Methodist Church. A variety of  music was performed around the theme "A Celebration of Faith, Love and Hope Through Song."

YEAR 2  -  1999-2000

December 4, 1999 - Our Winter Concert was held in Immanuel Church with the theme "A Celebration of the Season in Song"

December 5, 1999 - Once again we were invited to participate in the Victorian Walk Festival at St. John's United Church of Christ in Newport, Kentucky.

March 31, 2000 - Joined with the Northern Kentucky Community Chorus at the Northern Kentucky University Wind Ensemble's concert in singing the Battle Hymn of the Republic.

April 9, 2000 - We join the NK Community Chorus in their Spring Concert, singing two numbers of our own and joining the NKCC in two more.

May 13, 2000 - Sanity Singers' Spring Concert "Celebrating God and Country" was held at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Lakeside Park.

YEAR  3  -  2000-2001

December 3, 2000 - Participated in the Victorian Walk Festival at St John's Church of Christ in Newport, KY.

December 9, 2000 - Sanity Singers' Christmas Concert at Immanuel United Methodist Church, Lakeside Park, KY at 7:30 PM. A Stroll down Memory Lane and Christmas Music was the combined theme for this concert,  with many familiar show tunes.

May 12, 2001 - Spring Concert at Immanuel Church in Lakeside Park Saturday, May 12 at 8 P. M.

September 22, 2001 - Sanity Singers performed for a wedding of a member's daughter at Immanuel Methodist Church.

November 15, 2001 - Participated in the Interfaith Council at Madison Avenue Christian Church in Covington, Kentucky.

December 2, 2001 - Participated in the Victorian Festival at St. John's United Church of Christ in Newport, Kentucky.

December 8, 2001 - Sanity Singers' Christmas Concert at Immanuel United Methodist Church, Lakeside Park, KY at 7:30 PM.

May 11, 2002 - Spring Concert in Immanuel United Methodist Church, Lakeside Church. Emphasis on songs of the sea.

May 26, 2002 - Sanity Singers performed for the wedding of the director's daughter at Immanuel Methodist Church.

In September 1998, the Sanity Singers began with 17 singers. They completed their fourth year with 31 men, ranging in age from 18 to 82.

 

November 9, 2002 -  Sanity Singers performed for the wedding of a member's daughter at the Hyde Park Community Methodist Church in Cincinnati, Ohio.

November 14, 2002 - Full Concert at the Scheben Branch Library in Boone County.

December 7, 2002 - Christmas Concert at Immanuel United Methodist Church, "The Lighter Side of Christmas"

December 15, 2002 - Repeat Christmas Concert at Latonia Baptist Church, Latonia, KY

April 26, 2003 - Spring Concert at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Lakeside Park, KY. "A Celebration in Song"

May 18, 2003 - Repeat Spring Concert at Latonia Baptist Church, Latonia, KY.

 

September 6, 2003 - Performed for the Third Armored Division Association, 56 Annual Reunion, Villager Drawbridge Inn, Memorial Service, Ft. Mitchell, KY.

September 11, 2003 - Participated in Honoring America's Heroes, Our Fire, Police and EMS Professionals,
Crescent Springs Community Park, KY.

December 13, 2003 - Christmas Concert at Immanuel United Methodist Church, Lakeside Park, KY, "Alleluia! Christmas Music - Sacred and Secular".

May 8, 2004 - Spring Concert at Immanuel United Methodist Church, Lakeside Park, KY, "Songs Across the Ages: From Baroque to Broadway!"

December 8, 2004 - Short Concert for Wesley family night at Immanuel Methodist Church. Lakeside Park,  KY.

May 14, 2005 - Spring Concert at Immanuel United Methodist Church, "From Bach to Do-Wop"

May 15, 2005 - Repeat Spring Concert at Latonia Baptist Church, Latonia, KY

YEAR 8 - 2005-2006

December 3, 2005 - Christmas concert at Immanuel United Methodist Church. "Merry Christmas from the Sanity Singers"

April 29, 2006 - Spring concert at Immanuel Methodist, "And the Word is... (God, Country and Love)"

April 26, 2008 - 10th Anniversary concert at Immanuel Uniterd Methodist Church - "A Celebration of the Three "R"'s.  Rejoice, Reflect and Remember"
